*Our congratulations go out to the Houston Independent School District (HISD), which, despite having taken many seemingly well deserved hits over the years, has continued to try to improve both itself and the educational experience of its students, as witnessed by its recent opening of the Walnut Bend Elementary School, at 10620 Briar Forest, which is being described as the district's first "green" campus and an introduction to things to come.
