*Because trees and other plants absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen in return, which is called "photosynthesis," which is a part of the earth's natural atmospheric exchange cycle, their continued presence and prosperity should be promoted in every way possible.
Note: It has been estimated that one medium sized tree may absorb over a ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime.
