*Heart Healthy Nutrition can become very complicated, very quickly, and maybe too much so in some cases, however some general suggestions can be useful in most cases, to include those that I have noted here...in no particular order.
1. Eat less Fat!
Note: Some fats are more likely to cause heart disease, such as saturated fats and trans fats, which are usually found in foods from animals, such as meat, milk, cheese, and butter, but which can also be found in other foods, such as palm and coconut and other kinds of oils.

2. Eat less Sodium!
Note: Eating less sodium can be helpful in lowering blood pressure, which can be helpful in reducing the risk of heart disease.

Note: Sodium is something we need in our diets, but most of us eat too much of it, and since much of the sodium that we eat comes from salt that we add to our food as we are preparing it, and after we serve it, and/or from the commercially prepared food products that we purchase, avoiding the addition of additional salt at the table can be helpful in reducing the risk of heart disease.
3. Eat fewer Calories!
Note: Since eating more calories than we need can cause us to gain weight, and since being overweight can cause heart disease, eating only as many calories as we need is more likely to reduce our risk of heart disease.

4. Eat more Fiber!
Note: Eating more fiber from fruits, vegetables, and grains can help lower your chances of getting heart disease.
