*Even though this book, The Quick Red Fox, which was first published in 1964, was not the first in John D. MacDonald's Travis McGee series, I am re-reading it first because of three reasons, the first being because it is an easy read, and the second being because it shows us the general outline that Mr. MacDonald used to tell all of his Travis McGee stories, which are all about the gallant knight who charges to the rescue of various damsels in distress, and third...and probably the most important...being because it tells an interesting story, which as far as I can tell...so far...is about Mr. McGee being hired by a beautiful female movie star to recover some compromising photos of her...in her...ahhhh..."natural" state...that some unscrupulous villains are trying to use to blackmail her, and to, if possible, put these dastardly doers of devilish deeds out of business.
