SPORTS-SPECIAL OLYMPICS!

*Anyone who is looking for places for "special" athletes to participate in sports would do well to explore the opportunities offered by the Special Olympics, which describes itself as "an international nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition."

*Special Olympics also describes itself as "offering children and adults with intellectual disabilities year-round training and competition in 30 Olympic type and winter sports."

Note: The continuing success of Special Olympics is dependent upon the continuing good works of its many volunteers.

Note: Additional information about Special Olympic may be obtained by telephoning 1-202-628-3630 and/or by connecting online to www.specialolympics.org .

As the parents of two former special athletes we want to thank you for this post and to encourage everyone who is interested in volunteering to volunteer to help Special Olympics, which we still consider to be a total blessing for not only our family but also for every other family that we met along the way.
