*After researching the subject at some length, I have discovered a number of seemingly small companies that appear to be offering electric cars to the general public, including Tesla Motors, which is offering what appears to be a very attractive and very expensive, high performance, sports car, which, while being far too expensive for most of the people who I know, should be attractive to those who can afford it, if for no other reason than it was developed for Tesla, at least in part, by Lotus, which is a top motor vehicle engineering company in the United Kingdom.
