*For those who are looking for an affordable vacation in a place that is at least a little different from the usual tourist destinations, but still similar enough to allow visitors to enjoy their vacation activities without having to worry about excessive expenses, inadequate facilities, bad service, language problems, political unrest, etc, should at least consider vacationing in Hot Springs, Arkansas, which is an interesting little town that is located in southwest Arkansas and surrounded by the the Hot Springs National Park, which is the nation's oldest national park, where vacationers are offered a wide variety of very affordable lodging and dining facilities that can be used while visitors are touring the local attractions, which include a collection of eight turn of the twentieth century bath houses, one of which is open for business and another of which has been turned into a museum and visitors center, and an old movie theater that has been completely restored and now hosts the annual Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and a downtown hotel that is known to have been a favorite of former Chicago crime boss, Al Capone, as well as several very entertaining theme parks, and a nationally known horse [racing] track.
