*After having spent what time that I could over the last several weeks trying to find the answer to the question of whether or not this old dog could in fact learn a new trick by learning to play the video game that is called "The Sims," which is an outgrowth of "Sim City," which was my previous learning project, I can report that I am in fact making some progress in creating what for me is an interesting group of Sims, and in putting them in an equally interesting environment, but much less progress in managing their behavior after they begin pursuing their daily lives, because of the fact that as the game goes on they seem to develop minds of their own, and to then become less responsive to my input, which means that I am going to have to keep playing for at least a little longer in order to reach a better understanding of just what in the @#&* is going on with "my" Sims, which is the point of the game...I guess?
Note: The Sims, which is published by Maxis and distributed by Electronic Arts, is in fact the first of a series of similar games (expansion packs) that allow players to take their Sims through a wide variety of very lifelike situations, which could keep them playing...and buying new games...basically forever, which is also the point...I guess?
