*Since today is the 66th anniversary of the Japanese navy's totally successful surprise attack on the totally unprepared American navy's Pacific fleet as it was anchored at Pearl Harbor, in Hawaii, I think that this is the perfect time for all Americans to stop and pay tribute to all of the American and allied military personnel who gave their all in the defense of our freedom, not only during that attack but also during the Second World War that followed, and I also think that it is the perfect time for us to stop and remember the sentiments that were voiced by the philosopher, George Santayana, when he said words to the effect that those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
