QUESTION-BOXING DAY?

QUESTION: What is Boxing Day?

ANSWER: Contrary to what its name may suggest, Boxing Day does not have anything to do with fist fighting, but is instead a traditional holiday that is usually celebrated on the day after Christmas in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and a number of other commonwealth countries, and is thought by many to have originated in medieval England, when the lord of the manor would use the day after Christmas to give his servants and tenants boxes that contained various kinds of gifts to thank them for their loyal services during the preceding year.
