READING-NIGHTMARE IN PINK BY JOHN D. MACDONALD!

*In addition to all of the other things that I have been trying to get done lately, I have also been trying to keep up with my project of re-reading the Travis McGee books, by John D. MacDonald, which has been enjoyable...if not exactly easy...especially since "Nightmare In Pink," which was published in 1964, was always...and continues to be...one of my favorites, because of the still interesting story that it tells about McGee doing a favor for a disabled war buddy by going to New York City and then helping this buddy's beautiful (naturally) sister through a particularly hard time that she is having with dealing with the recent murder of her fiance, and with the fact that she has since come to suspect him (her fiance) of having been involved in some kind of criminal activity at his place of employment, where McGee finds out that a number of villains are in fact involved in a criminal scheme to steal the fortune of a very wealthy man who they have basically taken over by some nefarious means that are not immediately apparent, but that far from being a criminal himself the sister's fiance had been trying to expose these villains and their criminal scheme when they had him murdered, which McGee...along with his cadre of very interesting helpers...which includes the beautiful sister, of course...is eventually able to bring to the attention of the authorities, who then do what they have to do to bring this whole story to an acceptable if not a totally satisfying conclusion.
